Around and Around

So today while I was at the in-laws house, Daniel and his dad kept flipping between Golf, Winter Olympics stuff and Nascar. Can you say boring? I just have 3 questions to ask.

1. How can someone really think Golf is interesting? It's grown men in horrible plaid pants, hitting baby balls with a dainty little stick they call a club. LOL...really? I will have to say though, Pebble Beach is a beautiful place.

2. What is the point of the Biathlon? I didn't believe Daniel when he told me that they have to cross country ski and then shoot a gun. I even called my dad so he could tell me if Daniel was telling the truth. It turns out he was...what the heck? How random is that?

3. Making 500 laps of a course. Really? The whole pot hole thing did make it interesting, I'll give you that...but it went into overtime. Did you know that Nascar could go into overtime?

Ok, maybe I'm being a tad bit negative, but there was a Food Network Challenge on that I hadn't seen and that is way more interesting than the other 3 things I listed. =o) After all, they were making an Eiffel Tower out of chocolate....how cool!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Valentine's Day. My whole weekend was great!

Here's to a week of new offices, old friendships and new routines. I'm excited!

Beginnings...

Well folks...it has been a whirlwind since I last wrote. I will just highlight the good and bad so I know everyone is on the same page.

Bryce's ear infections never cleared up, so after a trip to the ENT he was able to have ear tube surgery this past Wednesday and for once in a long while he is ear fluid free! Today was a great day, and the first day since around the 1st of January that he hasn't been on Tylenol or Ibuprofen (sp?) so his ear pain wasn't too much to bear. I'm so glad he was able to get the surgery and thankful for Dr. Veilia and his staff. Not to mention too, all the people that prayed and thought of us on that day.

I was notified that the Clear Lake office of Kent Moore Cabinets is set to close...or go "dark" is how they put it. So, they laid off Angela and myself. I was devastated to say the least, but needed to be reminded by family members that God had a plan. And He did. The next day I was offered a position at the Houston office. Sure the drive isn't to be desired BUT I would have a job, benefits and the old team would all be back together again. God is good and I am so looking forward to working with Linnea and Becky...I should say Rebecca, afterall that is her work name LOL...I think all 3 of us are going to make a great team. =o)

Making the move to Houston does mean that we have to say goodbye to Mrs. Amy. It will be sad tomorrow, for me and for Amy. She has been a wonderful WONDERFUL person to both Bryce and I, and I am so thankful we were able to get to know her. Bryce will be going to Mrs. Andrea's house by the Houston office. I am SUPER excited about that. Mrs. Andrea is going to love Bryce (who doesn't?) and I know Bryce will love her. Again, God always has a plan.

The beginning of February has been a tough one, but thanks to many people, the Brody's made it through. Gma and Gpa stepped in to watch Bryce. Grandma Jane and Grandpa Brody brought over dinner and came to watch and play with Bryce. Dad talked me off a ledge, so to speak, and was the voice of reason I needed. Mom came to the rescue just when she needed too without even being asked. Rebecca was there to listen and offer help. Linnea had my back and was my encourager. We couldn't have done it all without you. Thank you.

This weekend we plan to take it easy and we look forward to Monday. New beginnings, new challenges, new people, new places and new memories.

Pardon the Interruption

Ok people, for what feels like the one hundredth time, I will make my blogging promise to you. I did really well at this when I was pregnant with Bryce and once he actually joined the world it went all downhill. Now that he is starting to talk and baby #2 is on the way, I feel like I owe you a little glimpse into the Brody world, because most of the time it's pretty entertaining.

Bryce turned 16 months old last Monday and already he seems so much older. He can now say all kinds of words and you can actually tell what he is saying. On top of the words, he can also tell you what a monkey sounds like...TOO CUTE! Oh and when you ask him where his nose is he points to it. Here are the words that he says...

1. Mommy
2. Daddy
3. Ball
4. Cat
5. Hi
6. Bye
7. Bryce (he really did say that for the first time today and I have witnesses)

We are working on learning snack, drink, car, book and Tigger =o)

Tomorrow I have an appointment with baby #2. I will get to hear the heartbeat and get measured to see how everything is going. It's a normal appointment and I'm a little bummed that I won't get to see the little one, but I only have a few weeks until I can see it and hopefully learn what the sex is. I'm so afraid that the baby will be a prude and not show us anything, but I have been talking to him/her and I told him/her that this was the one time in life that mommy will allow it to let it all hang out. In fact, I demand that he or she does or it will be grounded for the first 3 months of it's precious life. LOL...ok not really, but I truly did tell it about the letting it all hang out stuff and I mean it!

Well, it's nice to write again and I promise to keep this up, but please pardon the interruption if you don't see one of these from me in a few days. Life gets busy for us from time to time, but I promise I will be back!
